I have an ear infection. It could not have come at a worse time. I have about 3 weeks left, weather permitting! My ear infection keeps me from flying because it is a hazard in flight. Once the infection is gone then I can resume my flight status and finish up!

I am trying to wrap up this first phase in my flight training before the baby is born. I have an eight hour workshop I have to go to in about two weeks for Labor training... YIKES!

Vanessa said to me today that she had never had a weggie before in her life.

...big mistake...

Lets just say that I took care of it...

That makes me a very sad panda

I'm feeling blue today...no pun intended...LOL

Oh man, I enjoyed all the election hype and this was the first midterm election I voted for. The people have spoken but I hope they don't regret it.

We live in an instant gratification society. Americans do not like to wait. The issue that had everyone concerned was Iraq. Everyone is tired of hearing of all the bad news we hear regularly on the news about Iraq. The democrats brilliantly ran on the issue that they want a change in Iraq. It didn't matter what they believed in, just as long that they were against the war. Americans don't want to see their soldiers die anymore... America is tired...

I believed that issue is what open the flood gates and allowed many liberals, who normally might not have been elected, to gain office. I believe Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, John Murtha, and John Kerry are very liberal and will lead our nation down a path it does not want to go.

I know where Nancy Pelosi stands. Abandoning our post is not the answer. I believe most American see that to be true. I fear these election will send the wrong message to the enemy. The message that America does not have the resolve to last twelve rounds with the enemy.

Say a prayer tonight for Second Lieutenant Andrew Kinard

I sadly heard today that one of my former classmates from the Academy has sustained serious injuries to his lower body while on patrol in Iraq.

Second Lieutenant Andrew Kinard was struck in the lower body with an Improvised Explosive Device, aka IED or "roadside bomb". I am not too certain about his condition but he was sent to Germany which is a good sign. He will probably make it. Both of his legs had to be amputated and he also sustained groin injuries.

It's a sobering feeling that this happened to someone I know. We went to the same school, had some classes together and we went to TBS at the same time. He originally was going to flight school in Pensacola but decided to go infantry while in TBS. He is part of the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion of the 2nd Marine Division.

He will be in my prayers.

Way to go John Kerry

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." -Senator Kerry, 2006

Imagine if he was our Commander and Chief...
Sir, you never cease to amaze me.

Vanessa and I are thinking of buying a game console. I have not owned a game console since I moved out of my house about seven years ago. Back in the day I owned a Super Nintendo. That was dope. Now there are many different kinds of consoles and we have a tough choice ahead of us. I don't know which console to get. I want to get a console that has many 2 player games. I have a lot of research ahead of me.

Sorry for not posting in so long. I finally have some time off!!!

My wife says my head is full of airplanes. Vanessa claims that is all I talk about. I DO talk about airplanes. But can you blame me?

Flight school and the pregnancy have pretty much consumed my life. For the last 3 weeks I have been working 12 hour days about five days week on learning how to fly the airplane. I am making good progress but it is not easy.

For those of you who don't know, I fly the Beechcraft T-34C "Turbomentor". It is rated at 550 shaft-horsepower and can safley fly about 250 knots.

My other baby... )

I just got done with my first flight simulator phase of my training. I was learning the basics of flying without any kind of outside visibility aka instrument flying. Next week I should be back in the airplane getting ready to fly the airplane by myself safely.

This plane is waay more complex than the Cessna! LOL

Vanessa really wants to know if the baby is a boy or a girl. We are going to find out in about a week or two. We are both very excited but we cannot settle on any names. All my friends say I should name the baby after them!!! We'll see about that...

My birthday is next Friday... just throwing that out there... LOL

Inuki Stirkes Again

I just got up from a nap with my wife Vanessa. I went to the living room to see what Inuki was up to. Up to no good of course! As I walked into the living room he ran into his dogcage aka his sanctuary when he gets into trouble. I noticed my wifes' new 110 dollar book chewed up pretty bad. I am the one who mainly disciples Inuki. Lately Inuki has been afraid to come to me at when I call because he thinks he is in trouble. Vanessa says I should discilpine him less. So I took Inuki outside and SHE can disipline him. Inuki will be sorry when Vanessa wakes up!!!

I got to run but I will post again soon. Vanessa is doing very well, she is back in school and the baby is growing as we speak!

GREAT GREAT NEWS!

For all those who don't know, I recently got married to Vanessa in court last week! Vanessa, aka Caribbean_luv aka Trance_Feeva, and I first met on Live journal last January. Our relationship has grown stronger ever since. We are also expecting to have a baby next March!

We are both very excited and blessed for all the good fortune that has happened in our lives. I am truly happy to have Vanessa in my life and my bride.

We plan on having a formal church wedding in the near future. We will keep you posted with date and location.

I'm sorry I did not spread the good news earlier. I have been crushed with academics with my Aviation Preflight Indoctrination. Some of the courses include: Aerodynamics, Weather, Aircraft Engines, Navigation, Flight Rules and Regulations, CPR and water survival to name a few.

Our puppy, Inuki, is doing quite well! He is no longer very small!!! His ears are having trouble staying up on their own so we have been taping them up at the vet so they can stand.

More formal wedding pics to come, but this will do for now

Last night I had some good southern eating at a local restaurant. They served FRIED GREEN TOMATOES! I have never eaten them before. I honor of reading the book Fried Green Tomatoes, I ordered them as an appetizer... they were not that bad!

When I drove back from dinner I noticed there was a cat laying on the street in front of my house. It was not moving and there was a big wet spot by it. It was dead! I decided to bag it up and put the cat in my garbage can (Don't worry the trash man came the next day). I don't want a dead cat to rot in front of my house!

"Lemme see your grill..."

I have been waiting a long time for this day to come. I finally went ahead and bought a grill!!! So of course I had to buy some steaks and cook them outside! I even had Inuki, my new puppy, outside playing while I was cooking out. The steaks turned out great BTW, with the little help of Jack Daniel's steak sauce.

Last week I went ahead and stocked my bakers rack with some wine and margarita glasses. I got the good at Bed Bath and Beyond and had some assistance from my lovely gf. My bakers rack was looking pretty bare and now it looks waaaay nicer.

Since I am not made out of money, I have a lot to pay off on my visa... :(
Whats next on my buying list is to buy some kind of table to play board games and a book stand for all of my books.

I got back into playing WoW.................

Someone is going to pay!!!

Last weekend someone spilt some water on my Inspiron notebook! I had a little party at my old apartment and my computer was out of the way... I guess not far enough! Now my keyboard does not work. I had my computer sent off to the Dell techs to get replaced and I have to pay for it too! :(

It's boring at my house because I no longer have my computer and I do not have a TV in my new house. DON'T WORRY I WILL HAVE A TV BY THE TIME JAMES GETS TO PENSACOLA!

Who knew buying a house would be so expensive!!! I am almost starting from scratch. Now I have my kitchen up to par and some basic furniture. I still need to buy a washer and drier.

I am still waiting to start up flight school. I should know in a few weeks when I will start. I guessing the middle of summer.

Prepare for Military honors!

I should be a house owner in about a week. Everything is going as planned. All I am waiting for is the results of the termite inspection, which should turn out fine.

I just purchased some couches and my bed. Thank goodness I don't have to start paying till January 2008!

I need to get the house ready for when everyone comes by for spring break. That means I need to buy a TV and a dinette set.

I am still waiting to class up for flight school. In the mean time I'm on a Ceremonial detail aka Funeral detail. I get to do such things as help remove the casket from the hearse and help fold the flag draped over the coffin. They have funerals out here all the time. Now don't get all freaked out, all former Marines who served honorably can have a military funeral.

I also pass by the time by practicing martial arts, lifting weights and driving to the university to spend time with my girlfriend.

I bought a pistol

I bought a pistol the other day. A warrior should own a weapon! It's a Glock 37 (It shoots a .45 GAP round). In other words it shoots a big round and the pistol is light. It feels much better than the standard issued pistol they make us use in the Marine Corps (M9 Beretta 9mm). I have no problems owning a gun. While I was at TBS, I kept a M-16 locked up in my room and I carried it around everywhere. I even got to put it in my sleeping bag and sleep with it when I go and train in the field.

I will probably shoot the pistol tomorrow for the first time. I can't wait to use it. Glocks can take a heck of a beating. The only down side I see about my pistol is that the rounds are expensive. I don't mind though. Shooting pistols are fun and getting proficient with it may save my life one day.

Pensacola or bust!

I graduate TBS this Thursday. No more 15 mile hikes in the snow with full gear for me! From there I will drive down to Pensacola, FL. I will miss the Annapolis area, but not in the winter. Right now I am in the middle of getting a temporary roommate in downtown Pensacola. While staying there I will be looking to buy a house ASAP. Im thinking I should be a house owner by the end of Febuary. The pipeline is backed up so I might not start flight training until late spring.
